A few facts:
Are we conscious beings that shape our environment through the thoughts we act upon through our life that we have learnt since pre-birth?
***
I have been listening to Bruce Lipton discuss his work, and the one idea that struck me is that we absorb negative beliefs from before birth through to the age of seven. These beliefs become part of our unconscious mind.
***
Stating that pre-birth to 7 years old our brain only functions in one frequency...... he called it hypnosis.
What we learn during this formative period by observing our parents, siblings, and lifestyles shapes our unconscious mind. Our perception of ourselves as independent and powerful individuals may not always reflect reality; instead, it can be influenced by subconscious beliefs and experiences.
***
When we are born our brain is functioning on delta wave the unconscious or hypnotic state.
This is the time when we are most vulnerable to what's happening around us and in our life.
***
Babies are constantly absorbing and "downloading" everything in their immediate environment.
In adults, the analytical conscious mind acts like a firewall. It evaluates new information and decides whether to accept, reject, or ignore it.
***
Newborns and infants do not have this firewall. Because higher-frequency analytical brainwaves (like Beta) are not yet mature, a baby’s brain operates like an open drive. Every sight, sound, emotional reaction, and environmental habit is written directly onto their foundational neural architecture, shaping how their brain wires itself for the rest of their life.
***
Early experiences shape the physical development If a baby absorbs an environment of chronic stress, neglect, or fear while in the delta state, their nervous system sets a high baseline for cortisol and adrenaline. As adults, they may experience a persistent, unexplained sense of anxiety or hypervigilance because their body's alarm system was calibrated to expect danger early on. Conversely, a safe environment wires the nervous system to default to calm and resilience.
***
Babies download a mental model of how relationships work.
If a caregiver is volatile or absent, the blueprint becomes: "The world is unpredictable, and I must protect myself.
These implicit rules operate like subconscious software, heavily influencing adult romantic relationships, friendships, and trust.
***
The environment a baby experiences can alter how their DNA expresses itself without changing the genetic code itself. High stress in infancy can leave chemical marks on DNA that regulate the stress response.
This means early trauma or comfort physically changes how the body manages stress decades later, influencing both mental health and susceptibility to physical illness.
***
Unspoken data is stored in body tissue, muscle memory, and the autonomic nervous system rather than as narrative stories.
An adult might experience a physical reaction—like a sudden tightening of the chest or a feeling of safety—triggered by a specific scent, tone of voice, or environmental atmosphere. They cannot explain why they feel that way because the memory is sensory, not factual.
***
Because this data is non-verbal, traditional talk therapy (which relies on the adult analytical brain) can sometimes struggle to access it. This is why sense modality that target the subconscious and the body—such as EMDR- eye movement desensitization and re-processing, art therapy, or mindfulness they are highly effective at rewiring these early, deep-seated hidden patterns.
***
When we react to something without conscious awareness, our response may be influenced by experiences acquired during the prenatal period or early childhood, up to approximately seven years of age.
This is useful to know so we can act when needed to help ourselves. It may help us to unravel our un-conscious self.
