Welcome to the September Goddess Times, a place of sharing in these transformational times, honouring the earth and the sacred feminine during our journey towards unity. The old ways of separation do not work in the new world and as we move towards inner wholeness we are now coming together both within and without.
The year turns yet again as we enter September for we have now stepped into the beginning of autumn and the energies change for all of us. After a very powerful month astrologically the skies have prepared us to move forward in a more authentic way than we have ever experienced before so enjoy moving into a time where you can be yourself more than ever before.
Autumn Equinox blessings to you all.
With love,
Margaret
Messages Of Light
Graham and I have recently returned from a visit to my family in the north-east and usually we travel via the motorways but as there was so much congestion on our journey up there we decided to take a different route back through minor roads. I remembered the route which we took because it was one I travelled many times with my late father when he used to pick me up from my college in Liverpool and drive me home for he was a commercial traveller in those days and he made sure when he could that he could come to give me a lift.
This was a very long time ago but I remember the journey and a place we used to stop called Kirby Stephen in Cumbria and we would go to a little cafe and have tea. As we journeyed back from my hometown I had a strong urge to stop for lunch at Kirby Stephen for I had never been there since those journeys with my father.
It must have been the early 70s when I last visited this little town and nothing had changed, it was still just as beautiful. I could feel my father’s presence as we made this journey and it brought me the greatest sense of joy to know that he was bringing me a guiding hand.
After lunch we walked around and followed a sign to the River Eden and this is a River which holds a very special place in my heart for it travels along the Eden Valley one of the most beautiful places you could ever find.
We crossed the bridge and stood by the River realising that it was on the route of the coast-to-coast Wainwright’s walk and I’m not surprised for it is absolutely astounding surrounded by hills and moors. I felt quite overwhelmed by the beauty of this place and it touched me deeply. This River called Eden is named after the garden of Eden and I’m not surprised by this.
The description of the garden of Eden in the Bible does refer to an actual place in the Middle East, a very beautiful place which was cultivated and a place where people came to learn agricultural skills but even though the myth of this garden had its origins in an actual location the garden of Eden is a metaphor for something else. Mystical teachings are filled with metaphor for the true meaning of things had to be hidden to guard the secrets which had been passed down.
The garden of Eden refers to 2 more things; it is a metaphor for the beauty which lies in the realms of light and spirit which we can enter when we pass over for many try to recreate heaven on earth through beautiful gardens. The Moors did this with their paradise gardens; they were trying to recreate the beauty which lies on the other side.
I reflected upon this when we left Kirby Stephen and travelled homewards back to the Wirral and I began to think of other mystical places which are said to exist upon the Earth and Shangri la came to mind. I know that this myth came from the discovery of a place of great beauty in Nepal but again it has become a metaphor for something otherworldly, filled with beauty and mystery, a reminder of the beauty which exists in the worlds of spirit.
I continued contemplating upon this theme and on Sunday Graham and I visited a country park near us, it is a beautiful place filled with so much to see but there is one special corner of it which we love and we call it Brigadoon because it is magical and beautiful and no-one ever seems to go there. We found ourselves at the entrance to Brigadoon and the gate has always been closed there; you have to climb over a little stile but on Sunday the gate was open and I thought once again about the film Brigadoon which to me is the same as Shangri la and the garden of Eden, mystical places of great beauty.
These places I have named are what is there for all of us when it is time to depart this Earth however I felt myself go deeper into their meaning and they are far more than mystical places, they are states of mind. These states of mind are the ones which if we are fortunate enough we may reach whilst we are still upon this Earth, they are the places in the mind which are still and filled with peace, the peace which can never be found in any worldly pursuits, the peace which passes all understanding.
In our spiritual evolution we strive to be the best we can be, to keep an open heart and to help whenever we see the need and at the same time we strive to let go of all those things which we still hold onto. We find it so difficult to find peace within as the mind is always chattering and reaching back into the hurts and pain which we carry with us for far too long. When we reach our destination of letting go and when we have risen above all those things which have held us back and when we know that we are not separate from anyone else or anything else upon this Earth we will reach the garden of Eden, Shangri-La and Brigadoon for this is the true meaning.
As Graham and I stood in Brigadoon and looked around at the purple Heather, the beautiful trees and the vast open space we truly were in heaven and for a moment we were indeed in the garden of Eden.
Flower Of The Month
Flowers belong to another realm; they are the healers of the soul. Their cosmic blueprints are within the worlds of spirit. Each month I bring to you a flower which is relevant to the energies around us at the time. The flower for this month is purple Heather which I have just described to you and the purple colour is flowing in now in a constant stream of light for all of us for it is the colour of the moment. When we move from season to season and when we travel through the turning points of the year as we will with the autumn Equinox this month we travel through transformational points and purple is the colour of transformation.
Sit with this purple Heather and let it bring all its qualities to you, let it bring the mountain air and the wild moors, let it remind you of the old healers who knew about the healing herbs and plants and let it fill your whole being with purple. It will wrap around you like mountain air and it will enable you to transition into the next stage of your journey this month for it is time for everyone now to move forwards. Always call upon the purple Heather when you need to bring in its beautiful healing and magical medicine.
Mystic Journeys
Having described these very mystical places then a journey to one of them will now bring you great peace.
Sit quietly and surround yourself with the most delicate purple mist, let this wrap around you and fill you for the mist brings the mystical and the mysteries.
As you look through the mist you will find yourself standing upon a path and there before you is the most beautiful scene you could imagine. It is a village of such quaintness with buildings the like of which you have never seen before for they appear to be made of light. You walk along the path looking down at the scene below taking in the air from the snow capped mountains all around you and you come to a River with an ancient bridge over it. The River seems to be made of liquid crystal for it is so clear.
You cross the bridge and you find people waiting to greet you and they show you how they live for they live in complete peace and tranquillity. They tend the most beautiful gardens you have ever seen, they grow their own crops and they take their water from the River. Oh how you would love to live in a place such as this where there is only peace and great love shared between one another. You are taken to sit in one of the gardens and you sit there upon the seat looking out at all the flowers, the meandering river and the snow capped mountains and you sink into the most blessed state of peace for you truly feel that you have found paradise.
