How to Come into Unconditional Love

In order to achieve this, one must first have Compassion. Compassion is feeling other people’s pain, whether you know them or not. It could be the people suffering in Ukraine from yet another bombing raid or a plane crash and you feel, not just their terror as they realise what is about to happen, but also the shock and despair of their families. You feel this in your heart centre, not the solar plexus which is the seat of the emotions – it is not an emotional feeling but comes from your spirit. Their suffering matters to you.

I was very fortunate in this respect. When I was about 4½, I was on my way to school when I passed a blind man playing the accordion. I couldn’t imagine anything worse than having no sight! After that I couldn’t bear to see anyone suffer.

From Compassion comes Unconditional Love. This, like Compassion, isn’t personal. You love everyone whether you know them or not, irrespective of what they have done, as Unconditional Love encompasses the whole being; we see beyond the ego manifestation.

To achieve this one begins by opening the heart chakra. You will read how to do this in my free e-book Soul Journey in the japa and meditation chapter. Also, from the very beginning, imagine sending your love and light to the dark places on earth where suffering humanity is found.
